Wellsville-Mendon Canal Shut-Off

This is to notify all that the Wellsville-Mendon Canal will be shut off this Thursday (August 12th) due to the large moss problem within the canal. The large volume of moss is backing up water in the canal to the point that it is over flowing banks in places. The water will be out for approximately 1 week while they clean-out places where there is plugging and try to remove as much moss as possible. Water will be restored in the canal for approximately 10-14 days once it has been determined it can flow without further problems.
