Fellow Mendon Citizens,
For many years our emergency services were a collaboration with Logan City, and for the most part the residents of Mendon did not bear the brunt of all the actual costs associated with this service. Logan City has made the decision to leave CCEMS (Cache County Emergency Medical Services). Mendon City therefore, is now aligned with Cache County and the communities on the south end of the valley to form a new emergency medical services group. The CCEMS for the south end of the valley will go into effect in January of 2021.
This will necessitate changes to the monthly utility bill for each household. The city council is in discussions of what the new CCEMS fee will be. Currently, the consideration is in a range of $4-$5 per month.
I invite and encourage the residents of Mendon to a presentation at City Council Meeting on Thursday, November 12th at 6:00 PM in the Flex Room of the Library at the Mendon City Hall. Cache County Fire Chief Rod Hammer has been invited and a presentation will be very informative as to the services and specifics of the city’s emergency services going forward. Those who cannot attend may send questions or comments to cityclerk@mendoncity.org or mail them to Mendon City at PO Box 70, Mendon, Utah 84325. These comments or questions must be received by November 5th.
Respectfully,
Mayor Ed Buist
